The introduction was shot at three different locations. The initial intro with the coordinator (myself) was taken at Picton cemetery, while the crew shot was filmed at the former Kenmore hospital complex. Because we were running out of light, we only had a chance to do a few takes with the dolly.
The descending clip of the four candidates was taken at ‘The Manor’ with a jib crane, just before the ladies were given their challenge (hence why they were still smiling).
This particular intro was extended for the purpose of marketing the new series, almost like a trailer.

After the success of the first challenge (which was essentially a trial project), I decided to produce a second series. The new production was more focused on the actual challenges, including the various experiments, and the human story aspect.
Again, the idea was to introduce a trainee who had no prior experience investigating the paranormal. But the initial game plan was to somehow film the selection process. The idea came from a number of suggestions from our viewers who enjoyed watching the first challenge.

We began auditioning in September 2008. After almost an all nighter, four potential candidates were finally chosen. Wasting no time we started the first shoot a week after the auditions.

The new series begins like this: leaving four regular people (known as challengers) alone in a spooky old location, with nothing more than a two-way radio and a video camera. Sounds like fun, unless you put yourself into their shoes!
The impressions of the challengers were recorded and then assessed by a panel of investigators. Only one survived and invited to join a small team to investigate seven new locations.

The original episode is approximately 25 minutes in length. What you are about to see is a 10 minute version of the entire episode. The frame size has also been reduced for
Youtube (320 X 240). There is some compromise in quality due to file compression and upload limitation.

The end credits were filmed at a number of different cemeteries including Bowral and Picton.
Most of the music in series 2 was composed by the very talented Patrick James Slattery, including the mystical and eerie piece
Forging Starlight (end credits theme).
